Human Being Make Climate Change

“Climate change is no longer some far-off problem; it is happening here, it is happening now.“

By Barack Obama

Planet Earth is 4.5 billion years old. Mankind, about 140 thousand years old. Let me put that in perspective, if you condense the Earth life span into 24 hours that is one full day than we have been here on this planet for, drum roll please.

Three seconds, in three seconds and look what we’ve done. We have modestly ourselves Homo Sapiens, meaning wise man, but is man really so wise? SMART yes, and it’s good to be smart but not too smart for your own good.

Yes, we have split the atom. Yes, we build clever machines, that navigate the universe in search of new homes. But at the same time, those atoms we split, create nuclear warfare. And our quest to explore the galaxy rejects and neglects the home that we have here now.

So NO ! That cannot be wisdom

Wisdom is different, while intelligence speaks, wisdom listens, we willingly covered our ears to mother nature’s screams, and closed our eyes to all of her help wanted signs. Wisdom knows that every action has an equal and opposite reaction. So is we were wise, we would not be shocked when we see storms that are stronger than ever before or more droughts, hurricanes, and wildfires than ever before because there is more pollution than ever before.

Mankind Attitude Treat The Earth

More carbon, more trees cut down than ever before.

At a record pace, we have increased the extinction of animals by 1000 times the normal rate. What a feat, in the next 10 to a hundred years every beloved animal character in every children’s book is predicted to go extinct. Lions gone, rhinos gone, tiger, gorilla, elephant, polar bear gone.

In three seconds. Species that have been here longer than us will be gone because of us.

Because the real crisis is not global warming, environmental destruction, or animal agriculture, it is us. These problems are symptoms of us. By-products of us. Our inner reflection, loss of connection has created this misdirection. We have forgotten that everything contributes to the perfection of mother nature. Corporations keep us unaware and disconnected, but they have underestimated our strength. Contrary to popular belief, millions are waking up out of their sleep seeing our home being taken right up under our feet. We cannot allow our history to be written by the wicked, greedy, and loony. It is our duty to protect mother nature from those who refuse to see her beauty.

CLImate Change Effects

Air Quality Impacts

Changes in the climate affect the air we breathe, both indoors and outdoors. These changes to outdoor air quality also affect indoor air quality as pollutants infiltrate homes, schools, and other buildings. Poor air quality, whether outdoors or indoors, can negatively affect the human respiratory  and  cardiovascular  systems.

Extreme Events

Climate change projections show that there will be continuing increases in the occurrence and severity of some extreme events by the end of the century. While it is intuitive that extremes can have health impacts such as death or injury during an event for example, drowning during floods, health impacts can also occur before or after an extreme event.

Mental Health

The influences of weather and climate change on human health are significant and varied. Climate change can therefore affect human health in two main ways: first, by changing the severity or frequency of health problems that are already affected by climate or weather factors; and second, by creating unprecedented or unanticipated health problems or health threats in places where they have not previously occurred.

On biodiversity

The increase of temperatures and the climate upheavals disturb the ecosystems, modify the conditions and cycles of plant reproduction. The scarcity of resources and climate change are changing life habits and migratory cycles of animals. We are already witnessing the disappearance of many species – including endemic species – or, conversely, the intrusion of invasive species that threaten crops and other animals.

On oceans

Because of global warming, permafrost and ice are melting massively at the poles, increasing the sea level at a rate never known before. In a century, the increase reaches 18 cm (including 6 cm in the last 20 years). The worst case scenario is a rise of up to 1m by 2100.

REDUCE Climate Change

  • Drive Less and Drive Smart –  Explore your community mass transit system, and check out options for carpooling to work or school.
  • Reduce, Reuse, Recycle – Do your part to reduce waste by choosing reusable products instead of disposables. For example, get a reusable water bottle instead of buying mineral water that filled with plastic.
  • Use Less Heat and Air Conditioning – Turn down the heat while you’re sleeping at night or away during the day, and keep temperatures moderate at all times.
  • Use the “Off” Switch – Save electricity and reduce global warming by turning off lights when you leave a room, and using only as much light as you need. And remember to turn off your television, video player, stereo, and computer when you’re not using them.
  • Buy Energy-Efficient Products –  Purchase home appliances in a range of energy-efficient models, and LED bulbs are designed to provide more natural-looking light while using far less energy than standard light bulbs.

Organizations Fighting Climate Change

IPCC

Leading international scientific body related to climate change research. The IPCC has the mission to provide scientific assessments reports on climate change impacts, future risks, adaption and mitigation options.

UN Agencies

UNEP is known for assessing global, regional and national environmental conditions and trends, helping in the developing international and national environmental instruments, and strengthening institutions for the wise management of the environment.

World Meteorological Organization

WMO’s efforts are dedicated to international cooperation on the state Earth’s atmosphere. WMO is one of the leading organizations responsible collection of meteorological data used in reports such as the ones published by the IPCC.

One person’s actions will feel powerless. But when there are enough people to get together, our tools will set off waves and rush the world into a new era of love and connection. Everyone has freedom and no oppression, but it depends on you. Yes, the reason you observe on this screen is to work hard, because time is of the essence, and only work together to make the time reach the fourth second.
